You are bidding on a Pre CBS, 1964 Fender Jazz Bass, L series.
This bass is ser# L5XXXX, The date on the heel of the neck is
"7 NOV 64 A"

I have personally owned this bass since 1968.
To the best of my knowledge, I am the second owner.
I used this bass for a short time on the road prior to purchasing
a P-bass in 1979. At that time, I began using the Jazz exclusively in the studio.
If you have access to any 45 rpm records (what's a 45, Daddy?), by Tennessee Tornado, on Monument Records, this is the bass that cut those tracks.
It has a magnificent sound and plays excellently.

It was loaned a couple of times to 'A' players in Nashville,
but I don't know which sessions/records they were doing at the time.

I don't have the original case, but I purchased a new case that is twice as strong as the Fender cases. I will pack soft, but firm, foam around the bass for shipping.
These photos were taken by me Dec 17, 2004.

You can see the date
stamped clearly on the heel.
The inner neck area is in excellent shape.
The body is in equally
fine condition.
I sold and shipped a Gretsch Country Gentleman two years ago,
it ran about $75.00 with insurance.

I prefer PayPal. Should you wish to make other arrangements,
please contact me immediately upon winning the auction.
