Remembering:
The Man In Black

Johnny Cash
1932-2003
Oil on canvas 40”x30”

The first day of painting: My husband JW came out to the studio with his guitar and played and sang Johnny Cash songs to me as I blocked in the image on the canvas (JW is a great guy).

On the second day of painting: A strange thing happened. It was approximately 9 pm. I was playing Cash songs on the CD player. As I was working on Johnny's face, the canvas started to vibrate! It shocked me, the hair on my arms stood to attention. Then I thought, 'Ohhh its just the low notes he's hitting that makes the canvas vibrate like the diaphragm on a speaker.'

I played the same CD over and over (same volume) until the painting was completed and it never happened again.
Hmm!! Makes you wonder.
